Invisalign Information

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Invisalign has taken the orthodontics world by storm. Everywhere you turn there is information and advertising about it. So we thought it would be helpful to turn to the source itself- Invisalign.com- to see some of what they are saying about their product.

However, what you find is that this site redirects to invisalign.co.uk and gives searches for orthodontists only in Europe. We will try to track down a North American source of information, however this site still has a lot of data on Invisalign that will be relevant no matter where you are.

The home page offers the search function, a video link, a link to a self assessment to see if it is an option for you, and several other useful links we will unpack in future posts. But why not head over right now and take a look for yourself?

Invisalign Cost

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Planning to go for an Invisalign treatment but not sure if it is worth the cost? We are here to help you out from your predicament. Most people who have been teased their whole lives for their uneven teeth, have heard jokes about their crooked teeth structure or have lived their lives hiding their unaligned smile from the world wouldn’t really care much about the cost of an Invisalign treatment (provided they have the means). Considering the fact that it promises to give them the perfect set of teeth that they have always dreamed off, Invisalign cost would seem like a small price to pay. But still, a large number of people are not really sure about its worthiness.

The main question most people would first ask is about the Invisalign treatment cost. But unfortunately, we don’t have an exact price that we can quote. Ever patient’s needs are different and ever patient’s requirements differ. Thus, it is up to the dentist himself or herself to quote an Invisalign cost price.

There are several factors that the doctor would take into account before quoting an Invisalign cost to you. The level of difficulty of your particular case, the amount of coverage your orthodontic insurance would provide is some of the things that would determine the cost of Invisalign treatment for you. On an average, the cost of an Invisalign treatment can come anywhere in between (in U.S. dollars) $3000 to $9000.

There are also several dental insurance plans that would provide coverage for an Invisalign treatment just like any other orthodontic treatment. In order to know more about your coverage, you should directly talk to your insurance provider.

But in case, you are provided any insurance coverage over Invisalign cost, you can try talking to your dentist directly for other payment options. Most dentists and orthodontic clinics offer flexible payment plans that even allow patients to pay on a monthly basis. Some clinics also offer the opportunity to enjoy the treatment without giving even a down payment or any interest being charged.

Alternatively, you can also opt for FSA’s if they are provided by your company where you work as an employee. FSA or Flexible Spending Accounts allows you to keep a part of your paycheck aside which you can use to pay for your medical expenses. You can choose the amount that you would want to be transferred to your FSA. Once you get your bills for your Invisalign cost, you can get the reimbursement for the bill from your FSA by submitting the bill. This is allowed because Invisalign procedure falls under orthodontic treatment and thus the cost of its treatment can be reimbursed through FSA.

Thus, if you are planning to opt for an Invisalign treatment, it is wise to plan in advance and get in touch with your benefits department immediately. Paying for your Invisalign cost through FSA program is an easy and convenient way to get the perfect smile that you have always dreamed about without putting too much financial strain on yourself.

Invisalign Cleaning

If spending a significant amount of cash on teeth straightening aligners from Invisalign, you’ll want to keep them in good and working order. Maintaining them by cleaning them is one of the ways you’ll have to look after your braces – you don’t’ want dirty and smelly aligners after all! So here’s a few ways you can keep your smile fresh, clean and bright!

(1) Use the exclusive Invisalign cleaning system – crystals which when added to water produce a soaking solution, which gets rid of dental plaque upon your aligners. Although, it does the job, it is very pricey, costing about one dollar or just under one pound per day, and after the expense of the aligners you may not want to fork out for the solution.

(2) Cheaper options include dental fixture cleaning solutions. Dental fixture tablets will clean the Invisalign aligners completely, however, they may cause scratches or blurring, making the aligners more visible. This may not necessarily happen, but just in case test the dental fixture solution on an old pair of aligners before you use them. It cannot cause anything but aesthetic damage, so your Invisalign braces will always work. To use, it is recommended that you soak them in dental fixture fluid twice a day, once in the morning and once in the evening, for at least an hour.

(3) Another alternative is soaking them in a small amount of baking soda (1tbsp to ½ cup of water) for an hour per day, twice per day. Bicarbonate of soda is a great cleaner and will always get you’re aligners squeaky clean.

After cleaning your aligners, brush off any excess chemicals with a toothbrush and rinse thoroughly. Never place your Invisalign braces around hot temperatures, such as hot water as these could cause damage to them. Lastly, if you do use the more cost effective methods and start to notice a difference in appearance, swap over immediately to the Invisalign cleaning system, which is designed not to cause any damage to your braces.

If you are interested in straightening your teeth via aligners, try Invisalign Walsall, at the Priory Dental Practice, based in Walsall, the West Midlands. Take a look at www.thepriorydentalpractice.co.uk for more information on their services, private and on the NHS.

Invisalign Facts

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

Invisalign is an alternate procedure for many teeth malocclusions, which is growing in popularity due to its many merits over braces. An Invisalign appliance is a transparent mouthpiece that fits snuggly over your teeth and can be placed in and out at will- though it is a lot more successful the longer it stays in. The number of Invisalign users is nearing one million. Approximately fifteen hundred people work in the Santa Clara head quarters of Align Tech. where this unique product is created.

Why is Invisalign So Good?

Cosmetic Reasons: Since the appliance is totally clear and very difficult to see in contrast to braces, people in the workforce tend to adopt this treatment as a part of maintaining a certain image that might not be as effectively held with braces.

Comfort: Because there are many different mouth piece aligners in the Invisalign treatment process there is less overall discomfort and pain in the treatment. Unlike braces which are adjusted every six to eight weeks or so, you get a new aligner every two weeks. The reason this is more comfortable is because with Invisalign you can adjust the teeth in smaller increments while with braces the modifications are more intense to make up for lost time.

Removable: Since the aligners are extractible, patients are not limited to what they can or cannot eat. This also makes it a lot easier to clean as you can reach every part of the teeth unlike braces where there are many covered parts and tricky to reach places.

Treatment Time: Despite the major adjustments made each time braces are changed, they often take longer than this new treatment: 36 months on average versus less than half that for Invisalign.

Disadvantages of Invisalign

One of the biggest additional bonuses with Invisalign is that they are removable. However this can also be seen as a weakness. Since they are removable they aren’t correcting the patient’s teeth one hundred percent of the time like braces. The success of this treatment is fully based of the patient’s willingness to wear the aligners for the majority of the day. Another reason removability could be bad is that once removed the individual aligners could be possibly misplaced or ruined.

Another difficulty is that Invisalign is quite expensive. The cost of production and numerous upgrades makes the end cost to the user substantial. In many cases Invisalign is even more expensive than traditional braces which are already considered expensive by lots of people. Talk to your orthodontist to get actual current figures.

One possible issue to be aware of is that Invisalign mouthpieces are made of polyurethane which creates a sensitive or even toxic reaction in a very few people. Occassionally a person may need to visit a doctor or emergency room, but generally an itch or minor discomfort of the throat and mouth, including coughing, is as problematic as the problem gets. Researchers are currently exploring other options for materials that will not cause problems for the few people who presently can’t use these mouthpieces. So, there is a good chance it will be an alternative for most people before too long.

Orthodontics Before and After

Posted by: admin | Comments (0)

This is a very striking page.

It consists of six pairs of before and after pictures from the Rafati Orthodontics office, and I must say, as someone from outside the dental industry, I am stunned both by how bad some tooth alignment problems are and by how dramatically they can be improved.

Some people might be “grossed out” by the pictures, but I expect that many others will find hope in them, thinking “Maybe my teeth aren’t beyond fixing after all!”

From an SEO standpoint, both the title and description tags are fine. I would like to see a little more explanation below each pair of pictures- there is currently only one short sentence for each- which will give more content for the search engines to work with, as well as give people more insight into what is invovled in such treatments. I would also move the line “These photos are of actual patients…” from the botton of the page to the top, and add a soft call to action such as “If you think your teeth are beyond help, call us for your free consultation!”

1. This patient had severe upper and lower jaw crowding and “eye” teeth impaction.
